Drs. John and Lisa Bowen are both certified and licensed as Optometric Glaucoma Specialists and Therapeutic Optometrists by the State of Texas. These certifications are the most advanced designations for the profession in the State of Texas. They diagnose and treat conditions of the eyes (employing the use of oral and topical medications) and perform exams for glasses and contact lenses. Dr. John Bowen utilizes the most-advanced technology to diagnose and manage keratoconus. The husband and wife team have lived in Flower Mound,TX since starting their practice in 1998.
In their spare time they enjoy spending time with their sons and their 2 dogs, Lucy and Champ. They are also active members of a local church in Flower Mound.
John Bowen, OD
Dr. John Bowen is from Sulphur Springs, Texas. He received his B.S. degree at the University of Houston and doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He completed an internship at the Orlando Eye Foundation where great emphasis was placed on eye diseases and pre- & post-op care of LASER surgery and cataract patients. He is also certified as a Optometric Glaucoma Specialist by the Texas Board of Optometry. Dr. Bowen enjoys fitting contact lenses (especially keratoconics), treating eye diseases, working with low vision patients, and training patients with binocularity disorders.
Lisa Bowen, OD
Dr. Lisa Bowen grew up in both Houston, Texas and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She too graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. and later completed her doctorate at the University of Houston College of Optometry. She has received special training in pediatric developmental optometry with Dr. Jerome Rosner. She also completed an internship at the Orlando Eye Foundation. Dr. Bowen enjoys primary care, pediatrics, and treatment of eye diseases. She too is certified by the Texas Board of Optometry as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Having grown up in South Florida she speaks fluent Spanish.
Jackie Wang, OD
Dr. Jackie Wang was born in Louisiana and grew up in Northern Virginia. She received her B.A. degree from George Mason University in Virginia and was the recipient of the Jeanne C. Mellinger award for most outstanding senior graduate in her department. She received her doctorate from Southern California College of Optometry and is certified and licensed by the state of Texas as a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Wang’s areas of interests include primary eye care, treating glaucoma, and managing diabetic eye disease. She is a fluent speaker of Vietnamese. In her spare time, Dr. Wang enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys and serving as a Sunday School teacher at her church.
Pat Colerick, OD
Dr. Colerick is a Nebraska native who graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelors in Biological Sciences. He attended Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago where he earned his Doctorate of Optometry. After graduation, he and his wife moved back to Lincoln, Nebraska to start a private practice. He and his family were active in the community and his church. After 14 years of private practice, Dr. Colerick decided to sell his practice and join a Corneal and Refractive Surgery group in San Luis Obispo, California (Limberg Eye Care) where he practiced for 5 years. After 5 great years on the central coast the economy was experiencing difficulties in California so Dr. Colerick relocated to Texas. Texas has been a great state to live and is an easy trip to Nebraska. Dr. Colerick had worked at Key-Whitman Eye Center for 8 years and has extended knowledge of medical eye management and care of our aging population.
